You have already proven yourself big dawg with your work and learning ethic. Don’t let the lack of your desired job dictate your worth. You are on your grind. Make sure your resume is tailored to the job you are applying for. Also, try the classic approach of calling different departments to speak to their Technology staff heads. You can hit up some tech meetups and make some social network connections. People nowadays are getting hired by referrals and their network circle. Its better than going through AI resume scans and sausage head recruiters. I don’t know what timeframe you have before mortgage or rent is crashing down on you but start looking for different means of making bread outside your standard job.
I had similar issue, barely any contact on LinkedIn and than I started updating my skills like a colleague suggested on my CV making it very clear and using MS Words new red CV layout to attract eye attention. I adjusted my position name to IT Support which most filters are set to and now I get contacted 2-3 times a week and was just offered a job yesterday 🙂. Companies are getting very smart with naming conventions as it allows them to to give you a lot more work and makes it harder for you to land a new role.
The market is just trash right now. I'd recommend seeing about getting a promotion/re-titling at your current gig (even without pay increase) to make yourself more marketable to other companies
Yes I second this. I received an offer recently after about 3 months of phone screens, then rejections.. occasional first zoom sprinkled in but no major W. The interview processes for my new role was GRUELING. Like I had a total of 8 interviews both in person and virtual.. took about 3 weeks start to finish.
Saying this to further show how competitive the market is, and how much they are vetting candidates before officially hiring. It’s one thing to get an interview, but after is where it gets arguably more frustrating lol.
Why Then have organizations continue recruit from India and also sending jobs to recruiters sitting & calling from India ? Hmmmm
It is totally different if you are a US citizen, as opposed to seeking sponsorship for a work visa or your H1 visa is getting ready to expire
