Can I ask for an agile promotion as a SM1?
Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).

I’ll just tell this after 6 years in the military and 27 years in the workforce. Employers will do and can do pretty much what they want. In terms of anything when it comes to at will employment. If you me not under the umbrella of a union contract, they will act like your are an inanimate object, there only to make them money. And that’s exactly what you are. An employee number. Nothing more. Some places have better cultures, but AI, inflation and this thing we call government will take us along for the ride. So hang on tight and accept it. Don’t try to figure it out. Don’t dwell on it. Because I’ve done that. I’ve fought these things and lost jobs over it. Never worth it. Just accept it.
I declined the position. Not letting them take money I earned. Take back what they gave initially (1.50) I'd do it all day long. Take back the cost of living raises on top is morally not right.
