Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

New Cheerios work is 🔥
This shouldn’t be news to people but it is.

If you’re white like me it’s so important to realize that we were raised in a society where institutionalized racism is normalized, and we were born with privilege. You can’t choose the color of your skin, but you can choose to put ego aside and reflect on why this isn’t happening to me, and be vocal about being anti-racist.

Before you move on, you might want to self-examine first. Were promotions ever part of your discussions with your manager? Did you express interest in moving up? Do you have goals/checkpoints so you know if you're on the right track? If so, are you sure you met all of them?
I'm of the belief that good work should speak for itself, but that isn't really how it goes in real life. If your boss doesn't know you want to be promoted (or on the path to being promoted), they can't/won't make a move. You have to advocate on your own behalf. On the other hand, if you did discuss and thought you were on the right track, then there may be other factors at play. I don't think it hurts to have a polite but frank discussion framed as "how can I get to that place." It might help you even if you go elsewhere.
Speaking of, I'd rec making a list of what you want out of your next job. Move up the ladder, sure, but what kind of environment, team dynamic, support system, etc.? Big agency or smaller award-winning boutique? Lots of peers or people who have been doing this a while? Those kinds of things. Knowing that can help when searching/engaging your network *and* when interviewing.
Happy hunting!
2 year into your first job does not mean automatic promotion. Calm down. Now is time to work on your craft not to think too much about $$
CD3 and after mid what were you promoted to?
Would you be willing to work at shittier agency for better title but the same amount of money (or more, not sure how much you make now)? A raise is more important than a job title in most cases. If you stick around for another 6-12 months, make even better work, the industry will be doing much better, then you’ll have way more opportunities.
If you're at a good agency with good opportunities, if you're putting good work in your book, you should stay.
It's hard, but try and worry less about tiles and advancing. It's mainly ego driven and not important in the long run. and the sooner you get over that, the better you'll be long term.
Also, if it's about money. You can ask for a raise without getting a promotion. The two don't have to go hand in hand.
Titles don’t really mean much. And it’s really really really rough out there. Unless your agency is toxic, I would hunker down for now.
