I've been in IT audit (SOX) at a Fortune 100 company for four years. Can't complain... I'm fully remote with unlimited PTO and a great WLB, even if career progression is a bit slow. People keep telling me I should switch jobs every two years for career growth and my resume, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. With the instability of the current job market, is job hopping still worth it?

The grass isn’t always greener. If you’re happy with your life, your work, your pay, etc… why change?

Commenting for visibility. I work on the other side of the table and have always wondered if I should transition to industry.

Everyone keeps saying switch every two years, but I think that advice came from a different job market. Right now, stability and flexibility are super valuable. If your current company supports your growth (even if slower) and you’re happy with your WLB, that counts for a lot. Maybe it’s worth focusing on building skills and networking internally before making a big jump.

I'm a younger plaintiff's side attorney (31). Does anyone else feel like white attorneys give you a particularly harder time? Like unreasonably denying clear facts, or trying to fish for a way to sanction you? Usually it's solo defense attorneys that get extreme with it, but I've seen some questionable stuff from BigLaw too. Hopefully I'm not the only one.

What are the chances of getting a lower offer because you're POC applying at a fairly large law firm? Not big law or anything but still. Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.

Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

At what point are you too specialized to lateral to internal audit? (PA, consulting, or industry roles) Currently have 2 years of external audit experience and 2 years of forensics: I always thought of internal audit as a decent exit but I’m beginning to get worried about getting too specialized to make that move one day
