I’ve been interviewing for Senior level UX jobs. How long has it taken you to get a UX job when switching companies?

Can anyone explain that how project allocation is being done in Nagarro. And what is the level of interview for project allocation for a java developer role?

Anyone else feel drained giving interviews?
One company itself have multiple rounds, each round we need to prepare, same self intro etc.. (same for multiple companies)

Kind of casing stress as we need to work + Prepare + Give interviews.
How can we cope up with this?

I'm having two 2nd-to-last rounds for non-G FAANGs this week, but I haven't heard if/when I am advancing in interviews for 2 different roles at G that I last interviewed or phone screened for 2 weeks ago. Will Google speed up if I tell them I'm in the process with another FAANG? Will it look bad if I tell G I'm advancing elsewhere but don't get the offer elsewhere?

UX Designers - how long did it take for you to find a junior role when starting out in UX?

Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.

Hey guys! I'm working on pivoting into ux research (background in product management and an MSc in marketing). Any recommendations for ux research certifications? Something that is well respected and well known and also provides a solid foundation of ux?

How do you approach usability testing for new onboarding sequences? I work with a variety of SaaS businesses and recently requests have come in to test onboarding prototypes.

New users are the first to touch onboarding so how do I recruit the appropriate participants to test? Recruiting new users doesn’t seem feasible, I would think we should run A/B tests and cross-check analytics to measure success? Any insight is appreciated!

For other Senior Managers, Directors and above, how do you stay on top managing your team, and also your understanding of your users? I rely on my team through the projects they work on, and the insights they arrive at through the research/design process. I rely on listening to sales calls now and then. I'm curious what other tactics you have to stay informed?

I joined a project that had already started and the team already settled on creating a user journey map, even though none of them are designers or in ux. I also have no experience in this field as I'm a data engineer. The user journey map was for mapping out the process for tenants finding housing assistance, so not a technical product. Given this new field and type of work, I've been having a really tough time. Anyone mind sharing what helped get you through your first ux project?

Trying to get out of consulting. Ux is so watered down and I’m terrified that it’s going to stunt my growth. I’m overall just not happy. Sure, consulting pats decently but I love the field of UX and just get stuck making wireframes that the customer requests. The field is so competitive right now and I can’t seem to land another job. What does a Technical UXR interview look like? I have my first one tomorrow! I am mostly preparing by practicing research planning and reviewing different methods, but if anyone has recommendations on how to better prepare, I would appreciate it!

I’m a product designer with about 5+ YOE I’m exploring courses/programs that one could take up as a mid career professional. I have a keen interest in Service Design, Behavioural Sciences, Design Research but not very sure about the opportunities. At the same time I’m open to exploring Product Mgmnt and Data science as along with design. Any recommendations?
PS: I already have a Masters in design.

Question: market research - do you hire for in house talent our outsource?

Anyone work at or know of firms that have data engineering roles? I discovered the world of design services and they seem to do the general type of work that I think is practical and useful. I'm love to find a firm that works with the public sector and social impact organizations, but can't find any that have data-related roles

After a long interview process, I had to decline an offer from Amazon. I was really excited, but they wanted to start me as an L4. I already have offers on the table $15,000 more then the possible top compensation an L4 can get.

Makes me sad. Has anyone else been real excited about a possible job and have been low balled?

I think I may have finally had it.

A couple of decades in this field and now I want to just walk away. The grind in tech is soul-destroying, and the vast majority of the time, coworkers outside of UX have no idea what it is, what it’s for, and how it’s applied. I’m at my wits end and the constant problem is a kind of “willful misunderstanding” of our process and value.

After wasting too many years on design immature companies, It’s senselessly depressing. I’ve given away too much of myself.

How important was your portfolio to land your first UXR job? There are mixed messages out there...

My product owner doesn’t understand the value of standard practices like information architecture, use personas, and just want to get to wireframes as soon as possible. Even after a few of us demonstrating that value and the founder chiming in to agree with us. How have you all combatted this before?

Has anyone done a UX bootcamp? I am still in the beginning stages of mine and NYC summer has been crazy distracting. Has anyone gone through the same? If so, how did you overcome this?
