Asking questions either in the comments or on the content itself. Ask things that people can respond to easily, brief opinions, that sort of thing. Think of it as giving a prompt.
Negatively or hitting 'controversial' topics seems to really work. Anything where people can angrily engage with the headline and not read the story. I do find sharable stuff connects the most, stuff people want to add their own feelings or experiences with
I’ve been paying more attention to the comment sections. If I post a link and then stick around to respond to readers directly, it turns into an actual conversation, not just a post.
Asking simple, honest questions has worked best for me. People engage more when it feels like a conversation, not a broadcast.
Posts that sound like a conversation, not a pitch, tend to land better. Real always beats polished.
Keep things casual and conversational, also keeping active with the comments definitely helps
