I wouldn’t offer this information, but if they asked a more specific question like “are you in a relationship with a USC” (it sounds specific but it’s been done) I would say this. H-1B is dual intent visa so you can have “immigrant intent” and still qualify… being engaged to a USC isn’t necessarily “immigrant intent” but that appears to be your fear here.
Thanks. My fear is that if I let the visa interviewer know that I’m getting married to an American in a year, the person might reject my visa.

They won’t ask you in an H1b interview
