Are Creative Directors rich?
Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.
They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.

My company does annual raises. It’s partially performance-based, but also used for market adjustments. It’s not uncommon to have annual increases, so I’m not exactly sure what your frustration is. Your co-worker could just be getting higher percentages because they are being paid less and their manager is trying to catch them up.
I find people who do weird unsolicited bragging things to be in need of comfort for some kind of shortcoming. Nobody else will say the thing they need to feel better so they’ll keep saying it as a way to self soothe. It’s “evidence” that they’re doing better than how they feel (the latter being more grounded in truth, but painful. Hence needing self soothing.. outloud).
I'd also be skeptical of that. Unless your coworker has married into the boss's family or something, he's probably pulling your leg. Most raises these days seem stuck in the low single digits, and if he's pulling down more than that he must be a high performer. If that seems unlikely, then you're right, he's full of it.

If they so openly brag about it, then you should ask them how much they’re making and what percent increase they’re getting. It might not be as high as one would think.
