Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.
They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.
Hi fishes,I have around 5.2 yrs of hands on exp in data engg. and able to clear service based companies interviews easily.Now I want to switch to product based companies as I am looking for some good work,good salary but I am not really strong in dsa as it's not part of my daily work.I don't really use trees and graphs as part of my daily work.
How shall I switch to product based companies considering DSA is their 1st round itself.what level of DSA can I expect from companies for data engineer position?

It’s best if you do it over phone, you can have your talking points and go through them on the phone, and that way you can gauge their openness and receptiveness
I received a job offer yesterday over the phone. They offered me the low end of the range. I negotiated with the HR person for the highest end of the range. It’s a non-profit, so there is no wiggle room outside of the band and I was told that in the early stages. He took the offer back to the team. He called me today and said they accepted my price. He said he went hard on my behalf. Which is nice to hear but I’m worth way more than that and I’m still interviewing with different companies because of that very reason.
I say, feel the fear and do it anyways. Stand 10 toes down. IMO, it’s better to do it over the phone. Be gracious and thankful for the offer and let them know what you want in terms of pay.
There's no right answer to the email or phone question. It's a matter of personal preference. I'm like you and prefer email, as it gives me time to compose my thoughts and make sure I come across well. If you're quicker on your feet than I am, phone might be better.
Your recruiter should know, and provide it to you, the salary range going into the negotiations; otherwise you not dealing from a position of strength. It the upper end of the range is less than your expectation, you have the knowledge that they are very unlikely to go above it.
Phone can be good for building rapport, but email takes the pressure off in the moment. I’d probably start with email and move to a call if needed.

I normally do phone, but friends do email and have had similar results. I say do whatever’s most comfortable for you!
