Need advice. I’m a super senior content EP at a well known agency in the U.S., where I’ve been for quite some time. Checked out http://Glassdoor.com, and I make at the high end of the ranges for similar agencies. In the past year I’ve also taken on additional responsibilities (outside of traditional EP duties) that have doubled my workload and raised my profile quite a bit. How should I go about brining up a sizable salary bump (some creatives and even planning peeps earn more with much less responsibility)?

Creators seem to have more experience, and on the other hand, it’s still a brand-new avenue of marketing. I’m always open to learning, and every situation can teach you something. It’s interesting to see how hard of a bargain some drive. Does anyone else have similar thoughts?
I’ve worked with a couple of them and it’s nice to see how they put a premium on their talents
OP: It make you rethink in what way? Please elaborate. Bigger question is, do you think creators and influencers are actually talent or just opportunists?

That’s how they got where they are ;). They know how to sell their value to their clients.

Creators figured out something most salaried marketers haven't: your rate is an anchor, not a confession. They negotiate in public, walk away visibly, and treat every "no" as market data rather than rejection. Meanwhile, in-house and agency talent still apologizes for asking. The structural difference is creators live and die by the number — there's no base salary softening the blow of a bad deal. That urgency sharpens negotiation instincts fast. The lesson isn't the tactic, it's the posture: know your floor, name your price first, and don't over-explain. Has working with creators changed how anyone here actually negotiates their own comp?
