There is truth to all of the stories. Some are exaggerated to make a point, but I know for a fact that a few of my friends needed to pull 4 AM nights multiple days in a row in the past couple of weeks. A couple of days ago there was a poll in the company bowl about whether people would still be here if the market was like it was 2 years ago. With a sample size of about 10% of the firm (yes I know it’s biased towards people on FB), almost 80% of people said they would have left already. Tread carefully young padawan.

LEK is probably not the best firm for WLB but it would absolutely be comparable with most T2/MBB firms when it comes to how much work is expected and how tyrannical leadership can be.
What you're seeing is, likely, one or two people who have a specific axe to grind who are latching on to an increasingly tired meme.
I don’t know why you think it’s a just a few people with an axe to grind - the LEK is a well paid sweatshop has been around for years
This is definitely not 1 or 2 people. You can easily search fishbowl for the posts. Apparently there are good exit ops, but it’s at the expense of WLB and autonomy. If you don’t mind asking permission to go to the bathroom, eat dinner, and to log off at night, then knock yourself out. That would not work for me.
I was going to say, seems like I see these kinds of posts day in and day out. Lots of people with axes to grind…
It doesn’t get better. Arguably worse. I joined out of college, and of the few remaining members of my cohort, all but 1 is desperate to get out before getting promoted to Consultant (4 yoe / post-MBA / project leader role).
Sounds like you’re pretty unhappy, I am sorry you’re dealing with that! You should probably quit, find something you like
