I've spent the 3 years in consulting, but I'm now at a crossroads and considering a career change. The challenge is—I feel completely lost about what direction to take. I know that highly technical roles and anything IT-related aren't a good fit for me, and to be honest, I'm starting to feel that consulting might not be either. I'm trying to figure out how to approach this transition in a way that helps me discover a path that aligns better with my strengths and interests

You might benefit from bottoms-up thinking here. Start with what you want your day-to-day to look like and figure out what role and industry that aligns to. If it isn't obvious, leverage your network and see what could be possible.

This, but also realize you might need to treat work as just work and find your fulfillment in life outside work. I did that for most of my career and now older and have the really meaningful job.

Do you have any industry experience before consulting? Or any piece of work is more interesting to you during your consulting time?

May I know which practice or org you’re working with?

Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. Any advice on what you might do in my position? Am I being crazy with this idea?

Career advice that I give to the people I manage- do one more thing everyday that you weren’t going to do or didn’t feel like doing- for your team or for your client. Could be notes, a follow up, a reminder, raising your hand to tackle and drive something-whatever. That little extra effort against something you didn’t “have” to do, every day, overtime will make you invaluable

I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.
