If someone gets to the final round fails to land the role, obviously they've met all the skills requirements but failed to translate past skills to current role. This could be due poor communication skills or personality quirks that many deemed "not the right fit"
Maybe they need to do more mock interviews to help bridge the gap of the intangibles.
Exactly. Final rounds are rarely about hard skills. It is about how clearly you connect your past impact to their current problem. Mock interviews help, but so does learning to tell the story with context and outcomes, not just tasks.
All the time I got to the last round I received an offer, but sometimes I got one that was below what was initially advertised as the maximum range, they couldn't pay as much anymore they said. Sometimes they do say the strangest things
That happens more often than people realize. Sometimes budgets shift late, sometimes it is poor expectation setting. It is another reason why candidates need clarity early and confidence in explaining their value when compensation comes up.
