turns out me and my wife underpaid taxes by 12k. Anyone else getting a nasty end of year surprise?

I don’t get it: Why would anyone invest, for example, in a 6% dividend yield etf with a 0.50% ER (ie EMHY) instead of a 9% dividend yield etf with a 2.5 ER (ie YYY)? Wouldn’t you still be getting better results with the expensive one?

Need help w fam situ: Parents are divorced but share an apt in my city. Dad pays for apt &visits; mom lives there full-time & pays utilities. Mom works PT& has variable income but makes ~$40k; she has no health ins & ZERO saved for retirement. Any recommendations on a dining table that works as a desk during the workday? I've been wfh since covid started and live in a 1 bedroom apartment - my dining table is my workspace. The round shape doesn't work well for typing and it's not really the right height. I would like to move to Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) team internally or externally. How can I prepare technical inteviews specifically for the team? I have background in FDD and don't have experience with case inteviews.

Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.
