Joining KPMG as an intern in healthcare advisory practice. Considering that I am in a MHA program (healthcare administration) any way to leverage to receive an offer as a senior associate?

If you have 3 years of previous relevant experience it might happen, but KPMG won't put you at Sr. Associate with only a Master's and no experience. SAs are expected to drive projects and work on a lot of the actual content.

I don’t think so - no SA’s usually have a MBA and/or 3+ years of experience

like

Agreed. Maybe extra comp as an associate at best. I’m an SA with 3 YEO and MBA. You may be able to get consultant at Deloitte or something though.

Lmao no way we’re giving out a C with just masters. In certain regions (Canada is a good example) people with MBAs hired at the C level

I am currently studying at CSUEB (NorCal), and had some internship experience. I try to look for that values work life balance and values staffs at all ages. Unlike young folks fresh out of college, I am almost 40 and this is my second degree (switched my career path). The firm I interned with have full of young folks and I felt like a bit left out. Any suggestions for a cpa firm that is family oriented, value staffs, and relatively has variety of staffs coming from different background? Thanks

Is this reasonable or am I missing something? I started maxing my 401k from year 1 and I hope to have $5 million or more by the time I retire around 60. Wouldn’t it make sense to put all of my yearly $19,500 401k contribution to ROTH 401k instead of traditional 401k? My reasoning is that I would pay 35% tax now and my remaining 65% would grow tax-free in ROTH 401k…. versus traditional 401k where I deposit 100% but every distribution will be taxed 35% assuming I make a lot in retirement.

Do any of the top consulting firms have analytics roles (preferably not super technical) that don’t require weekly travel?

Just had a talk with a senior member about my declining mental health and how to best navigate an exit. Response was “blah blah do these things for your next study” which is fine I guess because he wants to see my career here continue. What bothers me is “there are lots of other people here feeling the same way”. How does help me in any way, we’re getting together in a circle of poor mental health and it’s going to solve everything? McKinsey & Company

Plan on moving to Dallas Texas next year. Currently with Deloitte MTS team and will be a senior at that time. Im wondering how the culture of the office is there? Also, how is the culture of the other firms. Im not opposed to moving firms. Just finished working three 80 hour weeks, so that would be a big plus to find a team where that is not expected on a regular basis!
