My role is being terminated soon due to relocation. Not having any luck with internal recruiting, I’m under pressure to find a new job in < 1 month. I am looking to re-enter an analyst program as a first year at any financial institution. I feel like my career is crumbling because of this set back. Any advice to find a new first year analyst position either in Banking or Asset Management?

Immigration lawyers had sent me a questionnaire to fill out for Manager PERM. They now just came back saying that they need to assess me for a different position. Anyone else experience this? I wonder if this means they’ll now just file a Senior Perm instead? Asked them but they’re not very responsive.

I recently had an interview with a very promising pre-IPO company in the AI/ML space for a SE leadership position. The interview feedback was better than I expected, but with a twist. They have already given the offer to someone else, but they still want to bring me on board and they asked me what I would like to do. I am in the process of gathering more info, but it is tempting to ask about pivoting into product management. What would you do in this situation?

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. I have not been diagnosed with ADHD. I definitely fit some of the characteristics that go unnoticed in females. The good news is if i do have ADHD, it makes me quite good at my job as I’m very flexible and can provide positive energy to my patients. Anyway, my boss has told me I have ADHD multiple times.
