Anyone on pros and cons of A&M PEPI group?
Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

I suppose you have to really want the job to go through all that...although hiring the most desperate candidate isn’t always the best move
I used to be in a strategy group and was one of the regular interviewers. The reason is they want you to meet with a variety of people and hear how you think on various cases. Strategy groups are elevated in terms of comp and facetime with senior stakeholders, so it’s a bit harder to get in there than other groups. They are looking for ex MBB or similar. If you came from a big consulting firm, the interview process is the same thing you did to get in there.
If you got in for an interview, it means they thought your profile was good enough to potentially hire, so don’t get discouraged! Just do some case prep ahead of time - watch some consulting case prep videos, practice drawing frameworks, maybe read through articles based on the books Case in Point (Marc Cosentino) or Crack the Case (David Ohrvall). I saw way too many people who didn’t prepare at all and you can set yourself apart this way.
Right? I was alo shocked when a friend of mine told me that he'll be doing four rounds of case study.

I had an equity research interview for JPM and they asked me to do a 5 hour case study on a Saturday... I withdrew my application
Crazy right? It's almost like they want people t withdraw their applications. All of this and still not guaranteed the position?
