So I recently applied for a position as a training specialist, but I feel like I’m more than qualified to look for other roles. I have work in finance, but I do have my PMP, but I haven’t led any large projects, just assisted on them any advice to a young professional that just graduated with an MPA Fiserv, Inc

Are we talking about video games? Well I love video games but it is all about what ur end goal is. You will have better clarity on progression at PA but a role at a video game company is cool as fuck. :-/ not sure which would give better opportunities in the future
Sort of, this company focuses on slot machine/social gaming rather than your typical console games.
My end goal is a financial reporting role in the gaming and/or hospitality industry, however, I’m wondering if I’d pigeonhole myself in internal audit by taking this role.
What’s also a pretty strong factor is the fact that at the PA firm, I’d have my own office. At the F1000 I would be in the cube farm indefinitely as even managers are still in cubes.
Who cares what the business is audit is audit lol it's not like your going to be playing Xbox at work
@Deloitte 1: they do have arcade games and pinball machines there though :)
Uh D1 it definitely matters as the perks would differ and you would be more interested in their business when its in line with what you like.
OP - The fact that you would get a office is pretty cool but PA is always looking for people so I’m sure you can jump back if you want. My personal thought is stay in PA as long as you can at the biggest one that you can and then leave as I don’t think private sees the same kind of speed of promotion in comparison. So 2 years down the line you might be a manager or senior manager in PA but in private you might still be stuck as a manager. With that though, you might get exposure to more at a f1000 then at a top 15 PA firm. I was at a top 10 then moved to PWC and there is so much shit I’ve never seen.
I know this wasn’t an answer but hopefully it was helpful in some way lol :-/
