Was scheduled for an interview today for a Director pos. early morning I get a Reschedule request to next Wednesday but I cannot make it due to personal commitment .
Called recuit mgr.to let him know and he tells me the director is very busy as she’s the IT. Dir for the whole org.politely asked him to send her availability other than next Haven’t received anything since then . Wondering if such co. Is worth pursuing that doesn’t value others time and that too a replacement pos for the same busy role 🥹

Sorry to hear your interview didn't go as well as you had hoped. In retrospect, is there any valuable lesson you gleaned from your experience that you can carry forth to your next set of interviews? Hopefully you do, because the market for software engineers is really hot. Chin up, don't give up, and move forward.
Yes, I did gain some valuable insight and they were actually an awesome interviewer and very understanding which salts my wounds even more because I won’t work with them in the future.
Honestly I don’t have much experience with tech interviews so any interview is a lesson learned. I wrote down the questions I stumbled over and will practice answering them for future interviews.
Thank you for your kind words, really appreciate your input!
It happens to the best of us! Personally, I feel like I also interview way worse for jobs that I actually want vs. jobs I don’t due to nerves. You’ll have other opportunities to interview at companies you want to work for (and maybe even this one, assuming other job opportunities open up!) Just gotta trust that one door closed means another will open. Good luck OP!
Thank you, and you’re right my nerves definitely got the best of me. I had to remind myself that I’m human, they’re human.. and we’re both just trying to figure out if there’s good alignment for the role.
Love the phrase and appreciate the reminder that another door will open for me… I just hope it opens soon 😊
Maybe try following up with answers you missed or didn’t get quite right? I felt like I messed up the case study interview for where I work now. I felt awful, but followed up with some clarifying points. I think it showed that I cared, was able to make, admit and fix my mistakes. No one never makes mistakes. And if they’re not ok with that, you’re probably better off not working there.
I’ve been here too and it’s disheartening but I have always had some good take aways for my next one.
If possible also get some thorough feedback from the recruiter and the interviewer. I’ve often found a lot of great insight from how I come across vs how I think I come across.
Such is life. Every experience is an opportunity to be just that - experience. Take what you can learn and move forward. Wishing you good luck and great opportunities for 2022.

Excellent advice!
However, this won't work with every candidate, only those that either met/ exceeded the bar or came very close to doing so.

Pro tip: in the interview with the recruiter or hiring manager, ask what their hiring process is. If they are vague keep asking specific questions like how many interviews and what kind of interview and how long. Remember their best case scenario is that everything works out with you. You can ask for feedback and a “no” doesn’t mean “no” forever. Just not right now. There is a good video I saw recently that approached this situation well. I’ll find it and post it.
