After submitting my resume for the Global Finance and Business Management full time position at JP Morgan (my dream job!), I got a HireVue invite the next day! However, I completed it 9 days ago and still have no response....
When do we get a response in average, and after how much time does it mean I probably am not getting an offer to continue?
Thanks!

I would say keep going. Just like all dates are not meant to turn into marriage same idea here. No referrals are not overrated.
Referrals only help you get your foot in the door and don’t guarantee you the job. You still need to be qualified for the job, and be a good fit for both the team and job
Referrals, once upon a time, were almost a no-questions-asked guaranteed job. I wouldn’t say they are overrated, just that more goes into it now.
In this market, referrals have not = interviews for me
It also depends on the referrals reputation, and if they know the hiring team or the recruiter very well. In my case I’ve referred over 20+ people, but I interviewed them prior to even getting to the recruiter, in a way gave them tips to perform well and gave them guidance on what to improve on their resume. Not all referrals are equal at the end of the day it’s a volume and people game if you understand both then you’ll succeed. There was a person I was coaching 20+ interviews with one company over 6 months for 5 different roles, and the company finally said yeah we will give him a shot and they have an all star on their hands. Sometimes companies have incompetent people heading their hiring departments you cannot control that but what you can control is reaching out to people and finding out if you would be willing to work with that person/team.
Build relationships with your referrals and help them too. Some won’t help you back but the world has an unusual way of giving you something when you least expect it
A referral will get your application noticed, but it still doesn't guarantee that you are what they are looking for. With so many people looking for work, they may have received 5 referrals for the job.
They already had someone picked out for the role. I wouldn’t take it personally.
The larger the company, the less it's worth
These days referrals don’t even get you an interview.
Sometimes people just refer anyone.
