Let me give you some context. There are two versions of Infosys in the US. Infosys consulting that hires talent from B4 and pays them well and then Infosys Ltd. They staff resources from both firms in a project with the consulting staff usually leading it. If you accept the offer try to join the consulting division as the ppl and culture are kind of similar to B4.
Now the catch is, they win projects at a rate lower than that of B4. If they are paying you more than B4, and charging clients less means they are cutting cost somewhere else. Yes, it’s the cheap labor. This means you will be working with a lot of unmotivated, usually underpaid, overworked team members. You might end up picking up some of their work and end up overworking. Only very few B4 consultants stick to WITCH companies in the long run. Most of them boomerang within a year.
Thanks for the insight. The offer is for US Consulting.
I had a hunch the hours could be brutal because of surrounding talent. I appreciate the confirmation.
Hi everyone,
Cleared Infosys interview on September 25th. PKG discussion on October 10, 12.7lpa (inclusive of 15% variable) + 1.25L joining bonus..
As the hike was very less, I asked to increase it to 15lpa, HR said he will need to check with his supervisor to see if they can match my expected CTC.
After 30mins, he called and said 14.7lpa (inclusive of 15% variable) + 1.25L joining bonus.. I agreed to take this offer and asked him to proceed.
Yesterday, he called me and said, that the pay is fixed for the position which I interviewed for and he can only offer 12.7lpa...
This new package offered by Infy will be lesser than my current take home. Should I politely reject the offer or accept Infy's offer for now and try other companies..
Yoe - 7
Skills - SpringBoot + PCF & Jenkins
Current CTC - 10 (Full fixed pay)
Expected CTC - 15
*trying to rejoin Infosys group after 2.5yrs gap. could this be the reason for lesser pkg offered.?

Stay the hell away, unless you like getting abused, called late night, explicitly told to lie to clients and deal with candidates with fake experience.
I’d seen fake experience at my previous shop where kids with 1 yoe tagged as sme because they were on some projects as pmo or data entry. Subsequently these kids all made manager before clocking in 3 yoe

Also your exit opportunities will be 0😂
Why? Lol
A 30% raise is not worth what it will do to your psyche and professional reputation.
This 👆🏼
And they’ll nickel and dime on expenses. Cheaper hotels, lower cost airlines, etc.
Don’t do it - the added stress is not worth the 30%.
They just don’t do work with a lot of good clients. Similar business model as Capgemini.
Well, I applied to a job they had listed on LinkedIn and their careers page. Took me about an hour to format my resume and cover letter (I know, I'm a sucker). Got all the way to the end, pressed submit, only for a pop up to say the job was already filled. What terrible luck that they interviewed and hired someone in the hour it took me to apply in the middle of the night!
If you're interested in doing traditional management consulting stay away. They give recruits the impression that they sell this type of work but it is extremely rare. Most of the time you will get stuck in the PMO of a large technology implementation working regular US hours and joining late night calls with India.
Also they'll bring you in at a decent salary, but your increases will be minimal.
Source: worked there for two years.
Hey sorry just saw this! Minimal. 3-5% increase maybe.
