How did you request it through a letter to HR and how soon they responded? Did you request after receiving the docs to sign of before. We have not received any email yet since the working and non working notice.
You need a lawyer. Technically your employer can wait you out and will hold any severance payments till you sign. That's what happened to me… eventually I just signed.
You could also check if the Layoff could be protected under the WARN Act or if you fall into a protected category... But again you'll need a lawyer
Realllly emphasize you have a medical condition that requires monthly prescriptions (1-2 extra months health insurance) and if you moved for the job, show them your lease and how much it would cost to have to break a lease early. I only received half of that amount but it’s better than nothing.
