Just told I’m being laid off. What’s the best way people have negotiated their severance positively increasing what was offered?

Dallas, 9 years experience, Senior Advisory

Current - Manager at Cognizant, 115k base, New Jersey. Is this offer good enough? Is there room to negotiate? Is yes, how to?

I am feeling like why I am doing this but at the same time want to best offers.
And also thinking how should I convey if I didn't join the company even after negotiating and asking for a counter offer based on another offer.

Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?

I rented a house that had been vacant for a bit & the prior tenant didn’t do a thorough job cleaning up. Agent indicated the owner would be open to having the house cleaned but I would need to have the house professionally cleaned when I moved out (that was fine w me). I just received the bill from the owner for $250, which is super annoying bc there was no expectation communicated that I would foot the bill for this, more so bc the cleaner did a LOUSY job.
