I’m a little confused. Why are you on birth control while doing egg retrieval? I’m no doctor by any means, but it seems like it would affect your egg development outcomes, if only by interacting with the normal battery of medications involved with the egg development and retrieval process? Also, have you talked to your FET team about the hyperthyroidism? The thyroid plays an outsized role in the whole egg development process.
Also, I’m so sorry that you’re having to fight through all the coordination of your various medical conditions. I too have had my IVF (which starts with the egg retrieval) go through twists and turns due to other medical conditions. It’s just another challenge in a very hard process.
My initial consultation showed higher follicle count and fertility Dr said was fine to keep the Nexplanon in. They said it’s common for ppl with implants or IUDs to leave them in. I’m also on methimazole for hyperthyroidism which they also said was fine bc they want to keep thyroid levels stable for the egg retrieval process. Endocrinologist says you can’t be on methimazole during pregnancy (esp first trimester) so always make sure to be on bc. The medication is fine for egg retrieval just not pregnancy
after radioactive treatment to do any fertility stuff). Met my deductible this year and EY provides fertility benefits so want to take advantage before looking for a new job in the new year. Part of me feels like low egg retrieval will be a waste but also don’t want to set timelines back for everything and start fresh on my deductible. Ugh
