...(cont) why hasn’t he fully completed all his math the last 3 days. While I know the intentions are good, I want to scream! And cry. We are doing the best we can. It’s way too much pressure for these kinds of check ins, IMO.
The kids are happy, playing, smiling. The family time is glorious and mom and dad are keeping it together with smiles and positivity. I’m upset. I have already dealt with anxiety and depression while in quarantine. I’m getting to the other side now. But I know we have 2 more months of this at least. Do I tell her how I feel now? Or just ignore. Thanks moms. 💗
I think you tell her - set that expectation now that you and your partner are not able or willing to be full time teachers right now!!
Curious if the teacher has kids, spouse and is able
to observe the stress at home? If she/he is single you might need to spend some time enlightening them.
No spouse or kids.
YES! This!! It’s so hard trying to do both. It’s not like we sit around doing nothing all day! I think you can say it in a way that’s not super argumentative. Just say that you are working from home and it’s difficult to juggle both during the day. Ask her/him if they can set up a call or a zoom to work with your child? Your kids will be fine! You don’t need to be a teacher. Do the best you can, do the school work you can in the time you have and don’t let anyone make you feel bad about it! You got this, OP.
Thank you. I really appreciate your response. It’s hard to know what’s a “requirement” of work he has to hand in and what is optional. I’m at the point, if it’s a requirement, where I will do it myself.
I would tell her. We’re all just doing the best we can right now. Nobody is getting it perfect! Getting through it happy, healthy and with some work done in the process is success!
