Kind of in a weird place with my career. I work for a mid tier firm in a practice thats become too general (it’s sort of financial transformation). I just feel like im way too much of a generalist under the umbrella of accounting and finance. I have a bunch of technical skills like Python, SQL, Power BI and RPA that i really enjoy using. I kind of want to move to a better firm and do something more specific. Any advice on practices where I could to use those skills? 5 YOE

You have the YOE and the hard skills to make a jump pretty easily. You could easily go into corporate, consulting firms' digital practices, startups, or so right really any tech/finance transformation role.

In what specific role though? Companies advertise/make openings looking to fill specific roles, not general openings for departments

If you work under accounting and finance cases only then you are not a true generalist

Hello, I am in USI GES tax at DUSI. I love my job but not my team and mgmt anymore. I'm a performer and I'm dumped with work of 2 ppl while others are searching for work. I am burned out.

I resigned and accepted a job with EY GDS with a huge pay bump that DUSI can't match but I also gave up my potential promotion for 2023.

I've been feeling bad about putting my papers down and letting go off my promotion but I am really tired. I took up this job as an escape.

There have been a few (all relatively minor) but each time the partner tells me it's not important enough for me to attend. As a junior, I feel like I need to learn and no hearing is to minor. How else am I supposed to learn?

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with discrimination as an Asian in the workplace? In my company it seems like it’s a white boys club where and they just promote white ppl because they’re white. And then they have a lower bar for promotions for minorities (traditional minorities likes Hispanics and African Americans). Meanwhile they make Asians do all the work. I am not generalizing that this is how it is everywhere but it definitely is that way in my workplace. Any advice?
