Cheap mindset management cares more about timesheet, wfo, forceful mandatory trainings, imposing strict restrictions on laptop, access to personal docs only via vpn,no employee well being no salary hikes nth at all.90% projects filled with freshers coz they cost less.No WLB for good dedicated hard working employees as they are punished with more and more work, leaves rewards mostly for people who don’t work. But no issues kyunki job security hai 😂

You’re overthinking this.
Pay and WLB beat literally anything else for most people. If a slinky manufacturer paid me $500k a year at 40 hours a week I wouldn’t think twice about leaving any “interesting” or “prestigious” job that paid less and had me work more. Just my perspective.

Kinda surprised the factors already listed in this thread escaped OP. Must be the Stockholm syndrome that comes from working 70 hours a week.

Google has better food
It's also culture. People at Google come off as really open and friendly externally, whereas we're, admittedly, kind of assholes.

I think Google is run by a lot of ex McKinsey folks (including Sundar Pichai) and they tend to value MBB the most in general. Others not as much. I know a friend of mine from McK who was counseled out and Amzn offered him a L5 even though he was a MBA grad from a school which sent a whole bunch of folks to L6 roles out of MBA.
Shocked that ex-Deloitte is not on your list #harderthanharvard
I interned at Apple during my MBA. The work-life balance is often not better than consulting (50-55 hour weeks with frequent APAC calls), and I found the culture very cold
This was in Operations. Other areas may have better WLB and culture
