KPMG folks - how’s it going? I’m looking to apply jobs at your cyber practice and see some open position. QQ - Is the cyber practice doing good and second how are your hierarchy defined? Is there something called associate director or Consultant- SC - Manager -SM - Partner? Also I’m currently at 190K . Can I target a M position and beat 210+ Happy Friday and thank you for your input! 210 is to high for KPMG

like

Associate > Senior Associate > Manager > Director > Managing Director/Partner Can’t comment on how they are doing specifically but Advisory as a whole is doing well and therefore hiring. 210 K base at Manager is high, that’s more of a Director salary. I’m not in Cyber so I could be off base a bit.

BTW all my comments are US based. K2 could be right if you are not in US.

Target comp is too high for KPMG

Cyber here. Yes, we are in need of people, especially with technical experience in defense and response. I can refer you if you'd like, that almost guarantees you an interview. If you come in as a manager, it's tough to beat 190k even in HCOL like NYC or SF. Unless you have a unique set of skills and we have a top dollar project we cannot start due to lack of said skillset, you can push a bit over the 190 in extreme cases but never heard anyone breaking the 200k glass in Cyber as Manager. Try to come in as Director and that should not be an issue.

I know someone who is technical in cyber—how do I refer him?

I’m just fascinated by a SC at 190k....is that rubles?

Is it possible to find a good exit in a less populated area? I don’t want to be near a big city — I want a house and a big yard. But every single job that would be a good career move is in a big city. Do good jobs in small markets exist? How do you find them? I’ve considered 100% remote roles, but it seems hard to progress in a career if I’m not physically present.

Planing on moving to NYC in the next 3 years with my husband. Been looking at potential jobs that I may be interested in for when the time comes and a lot of the ones I’m interested in says “big four experience preferred.” I work for a regional PA firm and wanted to see what everyone’s thoughts are. If I stay at my current job, I’ll be manager by the time I leave for NYC or should I make the jump to B4 soon? Does “B4 preferred” outweigh my chances even if I’m a manager when comes down to it?

I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power. I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about. However, I feel really guilty about wasting their time and going all the way knowing I’ll just say no at the end. Wwyd?
