Just got told by managers that my performance hasn't met their expectations. High performer last year. Am I getting fired?
Am I the only one freaking out about layoffs at KPMG? (Can't update profile to KPMG for some reason) We are all on pins and needles waiting!!!
People always say sue the company or owner. Is it that easy to sue someone? Especially around employment when people are getting laid off due to Covid. I think Deloitte or any big consulting firm it’s not easy to sue them, they are well protected
How does experienced hiring (generally) work in consulting? Are there cycles similar to campus recruiting or is it year-round? Got laid off a few weeks back and the job hunt has been frustrating
I suddenly got laid off due to restructuring :( and currently have my H1B approval. I’d really appreciate your advice on finding a job within 60 days in consulting, strategy/operations, or product management. If anyone is willing to refer, I have 2YOE management consulting and ~8 months of startup growth experience.
Can partners get fired?
Why did Deloitte’s federal practice have layoffs? Given that the clients are large government entities. I can understand it happening in commercial but federal makes no sense
I’ve been terminated by my firm. Is there a reason not to sign the separation agreement and accept severance?
My husband (also works in the industry) just got laid off. And I’m a freelancer. So much for our plan to start a family soon.
If you get fired from Deloitte (or similar), what would they say in a background check? Would they say “would not rehire” or something like that? Anyone have any issues with this?
I got laid off during the beginning of the pandemic. Since then I’ve been struggling with drug use and finances. Deloitte hired me out grad school. I’ve been unable to find a job in IT Controls. Any help? I did IT Controls Audit Readiness for a couple years. The market is so niche and being black makes it twice as hard to find work. I really need some help landing a new role folks. I’m 22 days clean!
General question: If you get laid off from a job, and have ~6 month’s of expenses saved, would you simply focus on getting a new job, or getting a new job that pays more? Should you ever take a pay cut, especially in times like these?
As a UX/UI designer with a non design background (just a minor in interaction design), i find it rough to get more efficient at software. Figma, sketch, adobe CC… idk if i just need more practice since it doesnt come naturally or if im in the wrong field. I fear that at my next entry level position I’ll be fired just because it takes me forever to get digital work done
Is Deloitte the only top firm to have layoffs? I heard this from my manager today and find it hard to believe
What happens when you get laid off? Do you get to stay until the end of the day? Do you say goodbye to people or try to leave without anyone noticing?
I had a dream that I forgot to mute on a weekend firmwide call, began gossiping with my roommie about who's fucking who & what a fluid-covered mess it was, &my boss fake fired me to teach me a lesson
Looking at the way people are laid off, utilization is just one part of it. It's so hard to pin point what is (proper consultants let go from projects, etc..)
Especially for those older ladies with more life experience - did your life turn out the way you imagined and if not, are you still satisfied/happy? I guess I’m curious about finding the balance between sticking to what you think you want and embracing what life offers. Currently very happy but my life isn’t what I thought it would be so I can’t shake the thought that “younger me” would be disappointed.
Anyone with experience really using the LeanCanvas frameworks for their startup? Any good or too simplistic to be helpful? Thanks.
Nyc 🐠- I am looking for a civil surgeon to complete the immigration medical exam. Any pointers for a cost effective option in NYC? Also, I don’t have my immunization records and guess i will have to undertake all the shots again 😩 Last thing I want to do is go into a medical facility during Covid but here I am.

Went to a top uni but got average grades - was perhaps overly committed to volunteering plus military reserve service inc 2 deployments. Looking at moving from big 4 strategy & transformation consulting to a T2/ MBB with 2 YOE. How much will they care about grades? It’s the major thing putting me off. Honestly want to know if I am being unreasonable. My husband and I have worked f rom home since the start of the pandemic. Two kids 100% remote until two weeks ago when school started back up. I had to stop my work at 12:30pm every week day to make lunch for the kids and also made some for my husband to took it to his office nook. I typically don’t have time to stop and eat myself since I’m down at minimum those 30 minutes and I work in a bedroom so the smell of food in there is not desired…
hi i have a tech offer to work in biz ops for $120k, 10% sign on bonus, 10% performance bonus, 100k in rsus. NYC. any thoughts? im 3yrs out of college
Saw an email coming for EY reopening the India offices from October 4th, but professionals to WFH till December. I hope they never make it mandatory for people to work from office. I stay outside of the office location cities and would never want to relocate.
Can anyone from PWC AC confirm how much is the variable pay for Associate 2 in PWC AC? HR said variable pay will be there but it will not be mentioned in offer letter. Seems fishy to me.
How do you get into CFO advisory? Don’t you need former experience as a CFO? Curious about how this works and what background these consulting firms look for
Holy smokes the WK spots for Omen. Brilliant
NJ market - Cousin of mine who has >500 rental properties advised that over next 3 yrs it’s possible for me to get 3 multi-fams if I buy 1 every year for next 3 years, by doing FHA on the first so 3.5% down and then doing less than 10% down on the next 2 if I do it right. Everywhere I read not seeing how that’s possible. can anyone explain pls? Is there a hack that after getting the 1st owner-occupied prop, I don’t have to put more than 10% down on 2nd home, and on 3rd??
Any 🐠 at Booz Allen Hamilton that can give me an overview of your service lines? It’s not abundantly clear to me from the careers page . For context I have a lot of Agile transformation experience, and digital strategy / target operating model development.Booz Allen Hamilton
Prepping for Altman Solon interview with just over 3 yoe - would this align with the consultant or senior consultant level? Currently at the post-MBA level at my current firm, and am on track for engagement manager promotion in the next year. Thanks
If anyone can review my resume and provide some tips that will be truly great. Currently applying for financial analyst job, but no luck so far.
