I Currently work for an MNC in Kerala, I've 4.4 years of experience in software development. Currently leading a team of 6 developers. Recently I got an offer from Rakuten India, Bengaluru location. As Senior Software Engineer 1, Rakuten offered 13.5L as CTC + 1.4L as joining bonus. My current CTC is 7.2LPA. The ladies do move up the ranks OP. Have a good year and you will probably get promoted. Make sure your coach, RP, and HR know you want to be promoted. I'm working on a project now with a freshly promote manager and director, both women. Both very good. If you're good, you move up, if you're not, you don't. Shouldn't be that hard to comprehend.
P8 - you basically just described what op was asking if existed. Same goes for race. White guys may connect better with white guys. Again, it can be navigated but it takes more work on the part of the underrepresented.
Cohort system - we're all the same now. Have you not been paying attention?
😳 and how is this post asking for ladies' current comp level going to tell you that?
Yea but we're all the same! SA1 for a man and SA1 for a woman are the exact same.
Want a laugh? Lady mger $94.5k DC
PwC 5 - Wait what??? In advisory??
Ok: so we need a business school class for guys on rooting out unconscious bias. The trouble is older guys went to school when colleges were less diverse. They don't know how to integrate well with minorities and women.
P1 I know there is a cohort system. But I don't think that ladies are achieving promotions at the same rate. Hence there is still disparity in pay.
Also M1 DC Advisory.. Yup 94.5k
Well yea p2, but the thread question was about pay and there is no discrimination based on that. No one at the firm will offer a female SA1 90k in NYC just because she's female, and a male higher than that for being male. Partnership becomes hazy. Same for some promotions at the higher level. And it's not because gender biases are necessarily at play. It's about the fundamentals of relationships - who do I like better and who do I connect with better, given all else equal.
You answered your own question
You're SA? What location?
Note that I asked gents to comment. 🤓
Parity still a valid question unless they are just moving people through cohorts based on tenure (which shouldn't be the case).
The firm just moved to a cohort system to even the playing field when it comes to base comp. Kick ass and tell your RP you wanna be promoted. If you do a good enough job, you will be.
I'll go. Lady Sa3, $125k. NY.
Man sa1 99 NYC. And you are over the top for SAs in NYC, so if you don't get promoted this year, you will get little to no raise or be laid off. So kill it this year OP.
Sa2, $105k, SF
What separates sa1 vs sa3 besides someone subjective opinion? I feel comfortable navigating the game but not naive enough to think the system is transparent.
