It's not as much fun when the analyst makes a mess and you have to pull an all-nighter to remediate.
@M1 I like to think of it differently. If the work that way was delegated to the analyst or the consultant was going to take an all nighter by the time I got around to completing it then as long as the analyst or consultant manage to not mess it up 1 time out of 1 million I still come out ahead because of the 1 time I didn't have to pull an all nighter.
I felt so well rested the next day...that analyst is now my boss
Agree with M1. I delegate because otherwise nothing will get done given full days of meetings. If my team is stretched thin, I take it on myself to try and load balance. Have definitely had a few instances where late nights were needed to fix something my team put together because they didn’t have the right context or I didn’t explain things clearly.
Legit. It’s a great feeling when the team gets to that stage. Working on that with my team, we’ll get there. 😀
This is why people leave Accenture. Honestly, most Managers here don’t do real tangible work. It’s all hiding in meetings you don’t really need all-day.
Lol all the managers are triggered
SMART
Idk when I was a manager I made sure to stay on until the team was done for the night to field questions and offer feedback real-time. Might have been working on other things but always made sure I was the last to log off after project work was done. Prolly not efficient, but my teams always appreciated it
Also you tossed a bunch of garbage in this response…glad you actually know how to manage
Oh gosh. I remember my first DD as manager. I prepared during an all-nighter then assigned the 3 workstreams with as much details as possible.
Then it hit me. "Now what do I do". Chill till I got something to review!
It was beautiful.
Most managers here don’t do any work
