When the layoffs hit the BBbanks, where are the first cuts amongst IB, sell side research, buy side research, trading, sales, operations? Maybe rank starting with first out.

Stuck in a weird limbo where I want to leave my job more than anything but grateful that I have one at all with all the layoffs in our industry. It's a new kind of trapped. Anyone else feels the same?

With so much uncertainty in the economy and waves of layoffs that have hit tech especially hard... do we think there's really such a thing as a recession-proof job anymore if you're not an "essential worker"?

Need some suggestions: My current company is on a layoff spree and 2 rounds are already done and I can foresee another round coming very soon.

While I am trying to switch to other companies, I’m not able to reveal the real reason from my side for the job change, as if I say, it’s because of layoff fears than it’ll reduce my negotiation power.

What other reasons can I give as I’ve just completed 9 months here and it’s too soon for any other company to take me in.

Has anyone working tech for a bank been laid off yet? Tech layoffs all over the media but no one is talking about developers at banks (who make up 1/3 of headcount in some cases)

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I just got an offer from a company that I have mixed feelings about. Team seems great but Glassdoor reviews, not so much. So far I received offers from PwC India, Capgemini and Lexmark for Data Engineering.

More are in pipeline from KPMG GS, TechM, Accenture.

But one peculiar thing is happening. I have appeared for 4 Cognizant interviews but in all I have been rejected. Whereas most of my friends had easily cleared Cognizant. I am switching tech, so I am a bit concerned like whether my knowledge is too shallow😐
