Can you provide more context as to why you are upset? I know people personally in all three of those slack channels. They are wonderful humans who are talented and have built community intentionally. I’m sorry you are upset but please do be respectful - you are putting on blast communities of real people of color that are also suffering. Let’s please be empathetic and find ways to articulate our pain without hurting others. Sending positive vibes. ❤️✨✨✨

The Vayner responses...cringey and super aggressive. I actually don’t mind Gary Vee, bought one of his books. But I do mind is an aggressive work culture (visible through this thread), must be very exhausting in daily life.
I couldn’t say it better myself. This place is a cult. At vayner you’re either drinking the kool aid or you’re not and punished for it. I missed the ‘optional’ summer party and HR brought it up in my review. Gary knows how to manipulate his early in their career employees. I found the ‘ride or die’ ones usually have never worked anywhere else. Working there was truly the saddest year of my life.
As a Latin person, I notice a mismatch between “Latinx” and “amigos.” Even though “Latinos” actually means all genders and “x” is an unpronounceable Anglicism that makes no sense, if you’re going to use Latinx, you should also be saying “amigxs.” Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to feed my gatx.

Sometimes it seems people are just looking for something to be offended by. No agency I’ve ever worked at had anything like this, because I would’ve been the only one in it. It’s cheesy for my taste, but I suppose I’d appreciate the effort even if I didn’t use it.

I know a lot of agencies that have slack channels for the BIPOC employees that people like having as a safe space for discussion but i feel like it would all seem more accessible to newcomers if they had pointed out on the posted they were all started by employees and not by HR. Also, People need to stop grouping LGBTQ+ alongside initiatives for BIPOC. I’ve seen a lot of companies doing this over the last week and it’s insulting to all communities involved. You could have printed a new set of posters so as not to be like “let’s just lump all of these communities together.” Also lots of people are into sneaker culture that are white? Just a lot of tone deafness in this poster and this thread.
