Can you provide more context as to why you are upset? I know people personally in all three of those slack channels. They are wonderful humans who are talented and have built community intentionally. I’m sorry you are upset but please do be respectful - you are putting on blast communities of real people of color that are also suffering. Let’s please be empathetic and find ways to articulate our pain without hurting others. Sending positive vibes. ❤️✨✨✨

I can honestly say as someone who works at VM that each of these groups were named by members of that particular group. It’s not fair to say that they aren’t represented either. There are many active members in these groups who I think are very proud of the work they do and who they are.

Understand the facts before being cynical and spreading fake news: I am a member of 2 of these groups and was part of the founding of one of them. Amigos was formed and named by people who call and consider themselves POC and part of the LatinX community. This group was formed 5 years ago. VayNoir was formed and named 3 years ago by people who call and consider themselves POC, Black, Brown, African American. Vaysians was formed and named by people who call and consider themselves POC, Asian, Indian, Asian American.
These groups are autonomous and self governing.

What makes you think a "bro" came up with Amigos, Noire or Vaysians? If you look at the bottom, employees of those groups come up with the names. I also just checked a Slack channel description for VN, a black woman made it.
Seriously???? So easy to spew hate from behind a keyboard and that's offensive. Why don't you email someone at Vayner to get your facts straight. I am a POC and am in one of these groups. And I am damn proud of it! And no I am not one of 3 people.

I was laid off from VM recently and one of the things I really miss is being in my CRG slack channel (I know, I know it sounds weird but I really felt a sense of belonging there). I really think OP should give them a chance and actually make a judgment based on firsthand experience and put the names aside (they really were named by the founding members and not HR lol)

Go take a look, non-members can see recent posts in these public channels.
Also this makes me think you've never been to our in-person meetings when white people aren't around.

So I guess VaynerMedia 1 has learned nothing these last two weeks. listen and learn when people of color share their thoughts and experiences rather than getting defensive. Capitalism has truly broken your brain if you’re going this hard to defend Vayner Media.
current employee in a satellite office who is also a member of a few of the CRGs on this list. i feel like the names are one point of discussion (which should be raised to someone internally for a gut check) but what i’m understanding is that OP feels that while these groups are company-wide, it’s pointless to be part of these groups in smaller offices bc there’s a lack of representation/diversity within that particular office. saying this because they keep bringing up the point of having like 3 people join, when as a whole these groups have lots of members. i don’t totally disagree because it is difficult to have a connection to the bigger group when you’re not in the NY office to interact with and meet people face to face. however, i had to go out of my way to push myself to build that connection or i expressed that i wanted our particular office to be more included/involved. i
hope in the future that these things would be raised in the moment so we can have more productive convos. sorry you felt this way OP.
