Looking back on past roles, I’ve realized certain company behaviors were actually huge green flags I didn’t recognize at the time. For me, it was managers being transparent during hard times. What are yours?

Working with bosses who understand and respect boundaries. Little stuff like not emailing after hours or on weekends, not asking for details about PTO requests. The ones who understand you're a real person with a life outside of work are always the best bosses.

Giving recognition. That’s not just a standard at every company or from every manager. Huge morale boost, and you don’t realize it until it’s gone.

like

Flexibility and emphasis on work life balance. No one is expected to answer emails outside of work hours. No one is expected to forgo their earned PTO just because work is busy. No one is expected to skip a doctors appointment because there’s a meeting on the calendar. We are encouraged to prioritize our personal wellbeing

That’s great! For me a lot of them were red flags and unprofessional

Hello fishes. I'm an MBA graduate currently working as a digital marketing professional in a mid size consulting firm with 3 years of experience.
I am terribly underpaid in my current org at 5.5 LPA after a recent promotion and annual appraisal. Another mid size consulting firm offered me 7.5 LPA but I am asking them around 9 LPA.
Am I asking too much or shall I take the offer of 7.5 LPA?

Thank you

Just here to say I’m so thankful we have this safe space. People who aren’t diagnosed generally have misconceptions about ADHD and its symptoms, and I’m so grateful we have this bowl to seek help, learn from one another, and sometimes just vent! With all the negativity in the world, this bowl is that one ray of sunshine I so desperately need, so thank you everyone for what you have done and what you’ll continue to do!

Change my mind: the talk around things shifting to a 'new normal' is overblown. Society's collective conscience is too short-term to enact massive changes to things we are comfortable (e.g., global warming). Yes, it will take awhile for offices to open back up, flights to be full, etc., but within 1-2 years things willbe mostly back to what they are like now and this massive structural shift will have never materialized.

I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

So discouraged that houses where I live are about 50% higher than what they were 2 years ago, and now interest rates are around 5.25% for my credit score. This is like a 1750 sq foot home
