TCS is the worst company one can be in.
Cheap mindset management cares more about timesheet, wfo, forceful mandatory trainings, imposing strict restrictions on laptop, access to personal docs only via vpn,no employee well being no salary hikes nth at all.90% projects filled with freshers coz they cost less.No WLB for good dedicated hard working employees as they are punished with more and more work, leaves rewards mostly for people who don’t work. But no issues kyunki job security hai 😂
Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.

If you’re at a big 4 firm expect 55 hours a week in busy season if you work on audits. If purely consulting expect 45 hours a week.
Can confirm, summer is like 15h/week max. Very good wlb imo. That said, I would still exchange jobs would you any day.
OP I came from industry if you want to chat. I worked 40-45 hours a week 90% of the time. Rarely over 50.
Anyone at carrier side willing to share as well?
Being online or in office 40 hours, actually working more like 20 hours. For valuation roles maybe a bit more around quarter and year end
Curious, why the career change from MBB to actuary? Wouldn’t you be taking a big step back in comp/title?
Interesting! You mind going deeper into how you made the transition? I’d assume you have to pass a few actuarial exams. How much ‘credit’ did you get for your MBB experience?
