any insight into how a pmm skillset is different from a brand strategist one? of course the pmm applies insights to and influences the product, but it seems like a lot of the core elements - research, understanding the user, generating insights, developing messaging and angles to speak to them, etc are super similar. interested in transitioning and I want to understand where my gaps are!

Has anyone successfully moved out of claims into underwriting? I have been doing worker’s compensation claims for about 9 years now as an adjuster. I would really like to get into underwriting but have not had any success so far. What are some other roles I can transition to?

How long does it takes for you to feel confident on what you are doing at FDD? Essentially I am not trying to stay at FDD forever but want to make sure that I learn all the necessary skills before I go.

In the current company I work for, it seems like in order to get promoted, you need to not only do what's within your job description well, but also do things that are past your job description so that they see your interest & understanding of other avenues, and THEN they'll promote you to a management role. Is that the standard way of getting promoted in all fields? Doing your job plus more until youre promoted to just do the 'more'?

If you make it to senior manager at big four can you leave and become partner or director at mid size firm? Is this hard to do? I know there is a lot of politics at big four and have no interest staying in a senior manager role for 6-8 years and risk a chance of still not becoming partner. Also I got a long way to go before senior manager fyi.
