Looking for advice here! 41 SINK. Have dealt with layoffs and career change from teaching to HR. Retirement planning has been challenging. What would you recommend I do if I suddenly had $50- 75k to work with? I lean towards ESG investing at the moment.

If you don’t have much else in retirements, you should be putting it in a broad market index fund like VTSAX. If you only have $50k you should be prioritizing returns over anything else

I have existing retirement. Lost some prime income time during my career change. Looking for advice on strategically filling the gap.

What kind of account is this in? What are your objectives? What are you investing in now?

like

OK.

Then I guess an option to consider would be:

First reserve whatever amount you need for a house down payment if you are not a homeowner yet and intend to buy a house soon.

Then put the rest in a taxable brokerage account in a carefully chosen strategic allocation of index funds, like the classic "three fund portfolio," and leave it alone for decades.

I assume you're debt free and already have a good emergency fund stashed away? If so, I'd probably invest 60% ESG stock ETFs / 40% ESG bond ETFs to keep your portfolio diversified.

Thanks! Yep debt and emergency are covered.

The argument that climate change is not man-made has been disproven by science over and over again, yet many people believe that the global crisis is either not real, not of our making, or both, in part because the news media deliberately chooses not to talk about it because it doesn't sell enough.

"Don't Look Up" is as real as it can be.

In the beginning of my career I absconded 1 company who had 3 years bond and I worked there for 5 months. My pf account is created for that company and it has been closed with reason cessation (short service). After that I worked in 1 company for 6 years and since January I'm working in TCS. Should I mention my first company experience. So far I'm not mentioning it anywhere.

Hi all.
Has anyone in
IBM been on bench for more than 4 months here?
I have been on bench for almost 4 months now & have been getting automated mails asking me to get assigned to a project by searching one by myself, else necessary action might be taken.

And are there any chances of being straightaway fired based on these automated mails?

I would genuinely need an advise from someone who is aware of this kind of situation.

Thanks in advance

I’m curious why more non-US citizens interested in FIRE don’t go live in a no/low tax jurisdiction even for a few years e.g. Dubai, some Caribbean islands. Scores consider the number of accounts that are paid as agreed. Your score was impacted because the number of these accounts is too low, or because you've missed payments recently on some of your accounts.

Hi FIRE friends! My mom is going to get about 250k from the sale of her house in a few days.
