My wife got one of the ball chairs. She seems to like it. I have an adjustable desk but sitting, I see why the ball would be better than a chair
I held off forever on getting a standing desk but gave in 3 weeks ago. It totally eliminated my lower back pain. I knew it would help but I had no idea it would solve my achiness so entirely and so quickly. All that to say, sure try the ball but if you only notice minimal improvement, know the desk might be a better long term option by leaps and bounds.

I had an exercise ball when I first moved into my apartment. Theres plenty of research that states you shouldn't sit on an exercise ball for more than 20 mins because your abs get tired of holding you up and moves the strain onto your back.
