Looking for feedback from the group about the benefits of using an exercise ball as a chair vs transitioning to a standing desk. Costs are an obvious factor in favor of an exercise ball but curious if anyone has seen any health benefits using either. Thanks

You can't slouch like a shrimp on an exercise ball.

Try the exercise ball first. Worst case you now have an exercise ball to add to the home gym

like

Thanks. Agree.

My wife got one of the ball chairs. She seems to like it. I have an adjustable desk but sitting, I see why the ball would be better than a chair

like

I held off forever on getting a standing desk but gave in 3 weeks ago. It totally eliminated my lower back pain. I knew it would help but I had no idea it would solve my achiness so entirely and so quickly. All that to say, sure try the ball but if you only notice minimal improvement, know the desk might be a better long term option by leaps and bounds.

Feeling a bit lost on where to go next. Currently early 30s and 3 years post-MBA as a Big4 Manager. Currently in healthcare but not really interested in staying in healthcare or consulting. I’m in NYC and am looking around for other opportunities in healthcare. I was wondering what other institutions’ benefit packages are. How much do you all pay in premiums?

I currently have my partner on my EPO plan at MSK and pay about $88 total every two weeks. I just want to know what other institutions are offering (Cornell, Columbia, NYU, Mount Sinai, Flatiron Health, etc).

My husband and I worked together at the same company for a year in different departments and they laid off 25 employees last week. My husband was one of them. 💔
It was dealt with poorly and severance benefits were bad compared to other companies we are seeing in the media. I’m really struggling to move forward and heal. The priority is for me to support him finding a new job but I just feel sick giving my time and energy to this company when they did this to us. any advice for strength😔

Have any tips?

I was just hired as HR Generalist/department of one/first HR hire for a small start-up. First week in and I find out that previous COO is in rehab and has made some some egregious promises around comp, additional benefits to EEs, and also made some decisions that cost the company a significant amount of money. Company has offered to pay for 2 months leave. Now it seems like owner and other execs do not want this person to return. What do I need to consider regarding termination? Is ADA at play?
