Looking into getting a Capital One Venture X card.

For those who have it, how is booking airfare/hotel through the Capital One portal?

Is it worth having just for the 2x points on all other purchases?

Additional context:
-I have an Amex Gold
-Amex isn’t accepted at every hotel I will be staying at while traveling in Italy so I need a visa credit card with no foreign transaction fee
-My main hang up with the Venture X is I hear the price of hotels/airfare in their portal are higher.

Under contract for nearly 1.1M. Wife and I are at HHI $315k. Will go up in the future, $400k in 3 years and $500k possible in 5-7 years. I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?
