Looking to fill a position at my company but don’t want to use a recruiter and am not sure how to find talent. Does anyone have experience in this area that could give some advice?

Does anyone in your company know you're looking? Sometimes you can have a lot of luck with your internal network. Someone might know someone from a previous job that is looking, etc...

They do but there is a referral bonus involved so not really much incentive for a coworker to send me an applicant instead of going straight to HR. I’d like to screen them before giving a recommendation

Use one of the online tools, such as indeed or LI. Worth the money, depending on your company’s situation. You’ll be sorting through resumes and learning a lot about what to look for, but you can give the hiring manager access on indeed, giving them the first look to sort through the immediate “no” list. You can set up interviews, send a “no thanks message,” and the hiring manager can take a lot of the burden off of you.

I swear, I don’t work for either of these companies.😆 I just like automation in hiring because recruiting (sourcing) isn’t my thing. I don’t enjoy it.
The big recruiting firms are great, too. As an hr leader, I don’t enjoy being in the weeds, and they do everything for us. I was sourced and screened by Robert Half.

to be honest, my advice is to use a recruiter;
it's much easier to be the final say so then the gatherer of options, you don't pay them unless they produce and
it's actually harder to fill roles when there is a dearth of candidates on the market but it's basically math - how much is it costing you to have these roles open?
That lets you know if recruiters ultimately worth it

Spend $500 upfront on LinkedIn and maybe not get anyone good or get too many people and then it becomes a whole job in and of itself

Im not permitted to use a recruiter

Our agency (within IPG) is hiring two roles: VP of UX with a research and design background and a Senior UI Designer. Roles can be remote but they’re targeting folks on the East Coast or NY ideally. It’s a fantastic culture and you get to work with amazing people. I joined the company a few months ago and am loving it! If interested please DM me and I can set up a referral.

Hi sharks, any hints on the VP salary at MS&C

Have got an offer from Maersk. I'm really interested to join. But on seeing the recession scenario and some companies withdrawing offers, I'm really afraid whether Maersk will also follow suit.
1.)Will they honour the offer letters once given.?
2.) How is the company for job security in general.
3.) How is it currently given the recession scenario?

Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

What do you think?

Outside counsel has been prepping company witnesses for a trial in August. It is my subject area so I am supervising outside counsel. I did not, however, choose the counsel. He is doing a really awful job. Co counsel is better, but not great either. Higher ups love the firm… I do not want to micromanage, but I have genuine concerns about outside counsel’s ability to try this case. Trials are rare, and I just don’t think these guys have actually tried many cases. Cont. below…

I just started meds yesterday and the change in my focus and attention to detail is mind blowing. My only concern is, just yesterday I had a tough feedback session with my manager around how I’m taking too long to complete my work, giving them anxiety around close deadlines. I’m new in the job (3 months in). Should I explain anything about my adhd to my manager or just wait for them to notice the change in me?

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.
