Depends where you’re coming from. We came from another country and a lot of what is added to food here made us sick. We read labels and buy high quality items, meat from butchers etc which means for 2 of us we run anything between 250-400 per week. We spend 4x what we did before moving here and it’s ridiculous
We pay between $150 and $250 per week on groceries depending on what’s needed that week - for example when we need meat, detergents, dishwasher powder, toilet paper, other toiletries or replacements of pantry items all in one shop it goes up to the higher end. 95% of the time we don’t get the full week either so usually supplement with a small shop with anything forgotten midweek. That’s in a fairly reasonable grocery store downtown (Davie st). It would be pricier in Safeway or any of the more premium stores like choices or fresh market which are also nearby- I only ever use them for convenience.
I should say we are a couple. We don’t eat a huge amount of food as such. We eat snacks like yogurts, cereal bars etc too
