Looks like Biden's push at debt relief is being blocked again! Were any of you on the bowl banking on this working out? What's your plan if it doesn't? Or are you more on the 'I'm unruffled by it' side?

It’s a weird thing to fight. I once read that in The US initiatives will get binned if they target certain groups because they are culturally jealous and would rather nobody win than just certain groups. I initially dismissed it as being ridiculous but lately I’ve started to wonder of there is some truth to that. Ironically it was in an economics text book

One thing that can be counted on is people acting against their best interests if they can stick it to the “other”.

I am not banking on any relief. Took a debt and have been paying it back one month at a time. 🙃

If anything, perhaps credit reporting for student loans should be more like medical debt.

Not for a second I thought this would go through. I refinanced last year at 4% so at least I will se the balance actually going down.

26 y/o and a total investment newbie.

I have $100k from an annuity invested with Schwab and managed by a brokerage firm. My parents set me all up with this when I got access to the funds at age 21. So I’m not sure of the complete breakdown other than the fact that it’s diversified according to my tolerance for risk

Now, I also have $25k liquid cash I’d like to do something with. Should I just add it to the existing portfolio, or create a separate, self-managed account?

Additional Posts in Student Loans

Curious to know how much your student loans were when you graduated from your program, how much you’ve paid off so far, and your age. If you have any varying factors too, like kids, income range, etc. Just trying to see if I’m on track or slacking in life. I am 34 yo, i graduated with 95k in student loans, i currently have 85k left and i make 85k in come. I’m also a single mom with two kids. Just praying for 100% student loans forgiveness. Wishful thinking???
