Lost my checked baggage while traveling through star alliance partners with a ticket booked through United Airlines (with a united explorer card). For lost baggage insurance, is it really required to submit all receipts of the items that were in the bag? I don’t have all receipts of items amounting to more than $25.

This happened to me but through American and they required receipts for >$100. It took a long time to find them all and most stores have receipts they can email you if you call. It took me weeks to figure out everything packed in it and file but it did work out eventually. Was such a pain though at the time.

I didn’t file through the credit card but through the airline directly. They assume the bag is lost if it’s not found for 30 days I think.
