Made ~300k post-tax on GME . I want to DCA it into long term stocks/ETFs. How much should I do a week? Also, I want to blow a lil for something fun. What is a reasonable amount?

95% of it into VTI 3hours ago, and the other 5% on hookers & blow 3hours from now

1) Don’t blow any for a full year. Wait until tax season next year is over to be sure.

2) Dollar cost average I have no advice for.

3) Spend whatever you want. It’s your money.

My investing strategy is just to DCA into an S&P 500 index fund and keep buying and holding. If I understand correctly, the sole disadvantage this has compared to a tax sheltered retirement account is that the quarterly dividends will be taxed? But even so, they’ll be taxed at a lower qualified dividend rate since I’m automatically reinvesting those dividends.

Lot of fear in the market right now (understandably so). The situation in Ukraine is awful and the potential consequences are scary to think about.

There are some who want to sell in fear of their investments falling further. Do not do this. Hold and continue to buy more. Continue your 401k contributions, and add whatever you can afford after every paycheck into your brokerage. Those who sold the covid crash were often late buying back in.

This is the dip you're worried about.
