About 2000-2100 billable + 200-300 non billable. Requirement for bonus is 1800 billable / 2000 total.

No, many people in my firm don’t make hours
Too many
2nd year at a V20ish firm with a Chambers Band 1 M&A practice. Billed 1825 ish as a first year and hit my bonus (1800 billable + 200 Pro Bono, diversity, recruiting, biz dev counting towards billable). Started out my year white hot and I’ll be at probably 575 billed through the first three months so should easily hit my marks this year
Correct understanding of the bonus requirement. I don’t know what seniors or mid levels are billing exactly but I know 90%+ of our associates in our PG got their bonus last year
6th year at V50 firm. Years in order have been 2800ish, 2650ish, 2600ish, 2400ish and 2400ish - only billable not counting accountable stuff for PB, BD and recruiting. Billable requirement for bonus is 1950.
Group has been fairly busy for years, but it really comes in waves of 100 hr months and then 250+ months. First few years are really difficult but it gets more manageable as you move up and gain more control over when things are scheduled / can offload some work streams to juniors.

I think at any firm someone billing those hours is in top 10% of billers and likely on path to partner. And there is also generally a lot more work at v10s than v50s with better clients who are less coss sensitive.
