McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!

Depends where you are starting from. For context, I had ten YoE when I applied at McK. I did about 20 cases, half before first round and half after specifically focused on the feedback from the first round. I did them with case tutors with clear feedback after each
Am I supposed to pay people to walk me through cases? I’m struggling to find free sources with practice cases that explain the answer
There are plenty of case books with real MBB cases that you can find online. I personally like Darden 2019/2020, Wharton and Columbia casebooks.
For practice, try "Preplounge" to find a case partner and "crafting cases" to prepare by yourself.

No, you can find people who are also going through the process to do it with. I'd also suggest practicing being the interviewer, i.e. returning the favour for them so you can learn from a different perspective
Be comfortable, confident and connect with the interviewers, assuming you're already familiar with the case component itself.
Rocketblocks was really helpful for me. Also no consulting background and did about 50+ cases total. 1-2/workday + 1-4/weekend day for a month. I dedicated the entire month to practice, but didn’t do any the day before each interview. Just like an athlete doesn’t over train, I didn’t want to overdo it either
