Leaving VC in SF after 4 years, spent 2 years in IBD. Got industry offer for Director level role in strategy / Corp dev M&A at a late stage pre-IPO unicorn (Series D+) at a MCOL city. 200 base, 20% bonus, additional 40k/yr options. So $280K range all in starting. I’m currently making $250K in VC here in Bay Area. Job is in a MCOL T2 city (Boston/Dallas/Austin/Chicago) so I won’t be living in expensive Bay Area. Is it crazy to switch a job while undergoing IVF?

Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?

Industry imposter here…How do you show progression on your resume when your internal levels changed, but the title doesn’t indicate a promotion to the rest of the workforce. (e.g. a senior product manger to a technology strategist)…It seems like a lateral move unless you were internal and knew it was a level 7 to level 8.

Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?
