Bizarre question. Is your potential consulting salary going to drive your graduate degree choice? Seems like you might want to use some other filters like passion for law, medicine, academia
I have a PhD as I was interested in pursuing a career in academics, but compensation in consulting seems to be tied to relevant experience and other factors.
Have a friend starting at $400k as a radiologist straight out of residency. Expect $750k or so after another 5-7 years, but it took 7 years longer than an MBA and they're 500k in debt. Can't beat the quality of life though for the salary
For age nothing beats a JD. $165k starting for a 25 yo at major market biglaw. Radiology makes sense but after residency = 8 years later. That JD is starting to buck for partner by then.
STEM PhD + MBB = ultimate combo.
BCG1 even JDs at top law schools are fighting for top jobs, JD market isn't a win anymore
Consulting? MBA. Rest are nearly worthless
Consulting salary, or overall salary?
Straight salary? Md w speciality
Not all MDs are worthless, especially in more math heavy fields like Data Analytics.
Depending on the firm could be no difference as many have flat salary based on level/tenure. Sure it varies wildly at pdubs because nothing with salary is truly standardized. I experienced there that it was just as about where the degree came from as what the degree was that determined pay. Not all MBAs made the same starting salary.
MBB still solid career choice. Degree gets you in. It doesn’t define how much money you make
Hahaha that radiologists is in for a rude awakening
