Mid-career MBA candidate currently employed but looking for new roles outside of my current industry. I have a background in underwriting and portfolio management in commercial real estate banking. I'm looking to move to the client side and into Asset Management. Due to my lack of experience on that side of the ball I'm not getting much interest from employers. Any advice/strategies on how to leverage the MBA or emphasize my skill set in order to make myself a more attractive candidate?

Question: I have a client who started a restaurant. He leased the land and bought shipping containers where he spent money contracting out to turn them into bars. Money isn’t everything but in my late 20s it feels like the only thing important right now.

WLB is next to zero as 60hr weeks are the minimum as of late. Management feels like they are trying to push a few of us out. Was told not to expect much come year end for comp. Any suggestions on finding a new role/pay expectations?

There is this big bank where I'd love to work at, and after several interviews for various positions they end up promoting someone from within, even thou I understand it and think it’s good they promote their people, it left me feeling like I'm just being used to comply with the process.
