Check in with them in 6 months just to stay in touch. That is all.
So you're great, didn't get the gig.
She sucks, did get gig.
That's it???
No chance she's really under utilized and you're not managing well? Asking for most likely everyone.
Especially when they know from your resumes that you’re both currently at the same agency...
I would just cc karma on this one and mind your business.
The anticipation.....
Yes, as much as I understand wanting to say something, don’t. Write a nice note and leave it at that.
I found out that someone on my team at my current agency was offered the position. Thing is — this person is not at all qualified for the role. We’ve been struggling with her performance for a while and frankly no one is sad to see her go. But I feel a weird obligation to warn the other agency. That’s a bad idea, right?
If you’ve been struggling with her performance, do you really want to keep her? This is your chance to unload your problem on someone else. If you say something, you’re gonna continue to deal with her.
It’s a bad idea as it’s not your place and will only make you look bitter. If this person really is as bad as it seems the company will find out on their own.
It’s tough to make this not feel like sour grapes. If you can thread that needle with the people you would have reported to, that’s probably the way to go. If not, gently stay on their radar while this person fumbles
You’ll only look petty even if it’s true. Best to let it play out.
Yes, it’s a bad idea. It will not come across as a save on your end. It could make her lose her role, you will not get it offered and might look like a tattletale, and you will just get bad karma. If they picked her over you, it’s their problem.
Just keep building those bridges and sooner or later they will find out, and if you really left a good impression, they will call you again.
